Next town on our route at the Bodensee was famous, old town Meersburg. A castle might have been built here as early as in the 7’the century by Merovingian ruler Dagobert. I. And by that is the oldest still castle to be lived in in Germany. The Castle was attacked and besieged many times but never completely destroyed. Fascinating is the distribution of land in the old time. While the numerous citizens squeezed into a few square meter of land in the lower town at the lake, the rules covered a much bigger space in uptown and of course the vineyard.
We were hungry and tried to get something to eat at some nice outdoor restaurant but the few open restaurant only had limited space left. So we had something inside the new castle but no view. Lola again started grumbling about cheep Common Joes food.
The swarm went on a tour through the old castle which was inspiring and big fun.
Dresses were on sale.
All houshold essentials of the old times are still there.
Lola had to be pilloried here for her unhumble behaviour which she shows all the time. Since the assets are still here we had to use the chance.
