As you, the dear readers might remember, when I went to Thailand before I had forgotten to bring along a Duck. Therefor I only have one picture from another stopover at Bangkok during a trip. Because of this dissaster we had to sent another Duck to this great, colorfull holiday location. This time we selected mass tourist Heinz to cover the story. He is permanently accompanied by a Thai, a Mai Thai.Heinz does a lot of travelling in Thailand, so he needs a lot of Mai Thais.
The weather is again too rainy.Just as it used to be on the trip without Sheila. But the sites are marvellous.
Sometimes we, here in Germany, have royal lunches in the neighbourhood. Did I mention, that the Ducks like Roya Gossip?
His Royal Higness Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (thailändisch มหาวชิราลงกรณ พระวชิรเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว likes to drive bycicle in Bavaria in the area round of the Starnberger See where he has a Villa. And he does stopp in some local inns to fill up after the efforts. In fact I just recently came across another one. He was seen on the Zugspitze mountain before too.
His sister was seen seen Augsburg before.
Bangkok, Royl Palace, boat trip on Chao Phraya
River Kwai, Boat transfer and resort
Waterfall River Kwai
Bridge at River Kwai
Ayuthaya
Sukhothai
The team again came across a nice Black Forest Cake, a piece of art. Like the Coffee.
Chiang Rai
It is at the golden triangle, referring to the borders with Myanmar (Burma) and Laos. There is also a special economic zone leased by China with a new airport and Gamgling Casinos. But also accessible by boat from China via mighty River Mekong.
There is a striking golden Buddha Statue at the Mekong river, a place where you can go on a boat tour which takes you even further north to Laos. And if you are lucky (another country) in the waters of Myanmar.
Wat Rong Khun of artist Chalermchai Kositpipat Its art if sombody pays for it.
Heinz decided to go for something more sustainable and had some tea.
We found more evidence, that the Ducks are taking over.
Chiang Mai is a town with many beautiful temples in Northern Thailand and worth a visit to it’s own.
Temple Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is one of them. It is on a hill and offers a great view overlooking Chiang Mai. Buying a cage of birds which come at diffente prices according to the number of birds (wildcatches) and releasing the birds is considered good luck. I am not sure, if the birds share that opinion.
Hua Hin
The spectacular trip came to a luxurious end in the wonderful Hyatt Regency Resort in Hua Hin 3 hours south of Bangkok by car. At the Golf of Thailand. The King of Thailand has a summer residence in town too. We and the King sometimes eat in the same restaurants.
