Craftsman Carl 12.09.2026 joined me during an inspection of the new Tunnel Drilling Machine recently baptized “Donna Maria”. It will drill from the “Donnersbergerbrücke” to Munich “Marienhof” place.

The project managers staged a big event for the Munich citizens which took / takes place at the Donnersbergerbrücke, the Golden Gate Bridge for poor people. And now I need a Big Mac.

 

Before we started, we made a stop and had a nice breakfast again in our favorite coffee shop Cafe Luitpold Munich. As we had to get some fresh air, we again sat outside.

Karl had too much to eat. So, he could not climb up the stairs and had to be lifted on the observation deck.

 

The big tunnel drilling project in Munich will create another tunnel for the city trains to cross Munich’s center stage. The old stage has gotten too busy over the years and now needs some new support and express connections.

We had to get some pictures before the mole disappears for the next years some 40 m below the ground.

These are probably the only pictures worldwide so far of a Duck on a big Tunnel Drilling Machine.

 

                                   

We liked that one of the crew members carried a mole for the event along the long queues of people and shot some pictures too.
