While the swarm was walking from the parking lot at the famous Saar-River-Bend (Saarschleife) we came across a severe state of catastrophe. A massive toad migration. The little and slow fellows, barely visible, were crossing the walkway. So, Sheila asked me to stand up there and warn the pedestrians. And we started to carry the little fellows across the walkway. Later we went into the souvenir shop and informed the official. The gardener was called in for the rescue. In the meantime, we noticed that more and more kids discovered the drama too and help transport the toads. So, we finally could leave them alone and continue our tour to the famous Saar-River-Band.
We bought a bottle of wine from the Saarland as souvenir. Of famous, excellent wine grower Van Volxem who we met several times before in Munich during wine testing events. Like in the old Royal Mint.
