Rudolph and Joyce talked me into joining them on another cycling tour North / Northeast of Munich. Rudolph who was a bit bored after not having to do a lot after Christmas wanted to see some deer and moose in the “Wildpark Poing” (deer park). We saw a herd of deer and in another enclosure several moose, a big male one far in the distance.
Joyce wanted to explore new possibilities to plant herbs in Munichs agricultural surrounding. (near Finsing)
Joyce wanted to explore new possibilities to plant herbs in Munichs agricultural surrounding. We found another May Pole in Finsing’s center.
We again started early in the morning with only few people out. We visited the huge Ismaninger Speichersee but did not see much of it as it is no recreation lake but used for flooding protection and sewage clearance.
But it is an important nature reserve now too. Some illegal, inversife immigrants who escaped from prison were seen here like Canadian Geese and even a Holy Ibis. And it is also used for fishing. But that of course requires a special license in Germany.
The way back at lunchtime along the Isar River was crowed but everybody kept the required distance.
We enjoyed the nice sun at the banks of the Roaring Isar River.
A Swan was approaching but we did not have any snacks but we were relieved when we saw other tourist sharing their Brotzeit with it.
On the way we stopped to attend a nice concert of frogs at a pond in the Isarauen (floodplain forest).
!!!!Warning, playing videos uses a lot of data volume, therefor I canceled to put it on autoplay and loop.!!!
Munich tries to produce sustainable energy and uses hydroelectric power plants wherever possible. Like at the Stauwehr Oberföhring.
