We are celebrating the 250’th birthday of free America this year which was mostly won by German troops. In the German war.
06/2025: We followed the Wittelsbacher traces in Palatin in the west of Germany and went to Zweibrücken. Which is connected with Yorktown by a long city partnership. We learned that the Wittelsbacher troops won the American independence war 1781 together with the allied troops from France. And some soldiers from the Continental Army, formed 1775 in America.

They defeated the troops from Hesse which were allied with the British,
The Wittelsbacher Royal Deux Ponds conquered all the airports, rammed the ramparts and by that created the new great nation. After sailing to America via sh..ho.. country Haiti.
Hometown of the Trump-Dynasty (Fred) was in the neighborhood in Kallstadt Palatin. But I haven’t heard of any veterans in the Trump family participating. Neither in Germany nor in the USA.
In Kallstadt we visited the vintner of the famous wine Kallstädter Sau-
Magen and bought a bottle to take it into the vineyard Lage Saumagen. Which looks like the guts of a pig.

In Zweibrücken we stayed close to the horse racing stadium next to a rose garden in a very nice hotel with a great breakfast. Our base in Palatin. A fair was going on during our stay next door but they closed down each evening early enough to catch enough Z’s for our adventures the next days.

We even saw another killer rabbit here.

Prince ruler Luitpold set up two nice fountains in Zweibrücken, the “Wittelsbacherbrunnen” which refers to the one in Munich.

Prinzregent Luitpold, who might have stolen the rule, is not to popular here either.

– And one to commemorate his son and so far, last King of the Wittelsbacher Ludwig III. (Millibauer, dairy farmer, who set his eyes on Lothringen in WWI) “König Ludwig Brunnen”. There is a proposal to rename it though.
And there is a potential heir Ludwig IV. who signed one of my Ducks, Ludwig.
