The prehistoric site and Alamannic hillfort on the “Runder Berg” (Round Mountain) was hard to find and no direct path to it was indicated but the path at the end was quite good and as traces showed is even used by a small tractor which seemed to have recently mowed the grass. We were alone on the summit and enjoyed the sun, the bumble bees, bees, butterflies and silence. We found a fireplace which we doubt, that it was a remain of the Allemanns. We could not see any old ruins but we are no archeologists. The views were not good too as there are trees all around the summit.
On the way down we visited the very nice “Gütersteiner Wasserfall” which reminded us of the trip to the Plitvice Lakes, Croatia.
At the end we crossed some lovely pastures and were warned of some flying monsters.
Castle Urach on a neighboring mountain.
At the end we crossed some lovely pastures and were warned of some flying Monsters and we also smelled the flowers along the way.
